Accessing Home Care In Alberta

Funded Essential Services

To apply for publicly funded home care services, Albertans must call Health Link at 811 and request a home care assessment. An AHS case manager evaluates medical needs, functional abilities, and the level of support required. Based on this assessment, AHS determines which essential services you qualify for under provincial funding.

AHS (Assisted Living Alberta) Assessment Includes

• Review of medical history, medications, and ongoing conditions

• Functional assessment (mobility, personal care ability, safety needs)

• Determination of essential care needs covered by funding

• Assignment to client-directed or staff-directed AHS care models

CDHCI

Funded Essential Services

Client Directed Home Care Invoicing (CDHCI) gives families the option to select a private home care provider while using AHS funding to pay for approved essential services. AHS determines eligible hours, and the chosen agency invoices AHS directly for those services, giving clients flexibility and continuity of care.

Curated Services

Privately Funded

If you choose CDHCI with our company, you may add extra services that are not covered by AHS funding. These include expanded homemaking, transportation, wellness experiences, private nursing, and luxury concierge support. These services are invoiced privately and can be seamlessly combined with funded essential care. In some cases you would be be paying teh difference in cost between services. Our concierge experts will help you navigate services so you get the best value and services.
